Deleting your account
Last updated: 19 August 2026
You can delete your Loopit account and everything in it at any time. This page explains how to do it, what happens afterwards, and how long it takes.
In short: deactivate your account in the app. Sign-in stops immediately, and 30 days later your account and all of your data are permanently erased. Until that deadline passes you can still get the account back by contacting us.
An account you simply stop using is also deleted, after 730 days of inactivity — but never without an email 30 days beforehand, and signing in cancels it.
How to delete your account
Open the Loopit app and go to your account settings, then choose to deactivate your account. You will be asked to confirm your password — this is what proves the request is really coming from you.
If you have already uninstalled the app, or you cannot sign in, email us at support@loopit.hexagonstudios.de from the address you registered with and ask for your account to be deleted. We will verify the request and take care of it.
What happens immediately
- You can no longer sign in on any device.
- Your existing sessions stop working.
- Your data is no longer reachable through the app.
Cycles you have already downloaded stay on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data. That copy is under your control, not ours.
What happens after 30 days
30 days after deactivation, an automated job permanently erases:
- your account, including your email address and password hash;
- your profile — display name, biography, status and avatar;
- your contact details — name, address and phone number;
- every cycle you created, and every item inside those cycles;
- the sign-in tokens issued to your devices.
This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We cannot restore an account once the job has run.
Changing your mind
During the 30 days after deactivation, your account can still be restored. There is no button for this in the app — email support@loopit.hexagonstudios.de from your registered address and ask us to reactivate it. Once the deadline has passed there is nothing left to restore.
Accounts that are simply abandoned
You do not have to deactivate anything for this to apply. If an account goes 730 days without being used at all, it is deleted for inactivity — the same list of data as above, just as permanently. We do not keep personal data for longer than we need it.
You will not be caught out by this. 30 days before the deadline we email you at your registered address, telling you the date and what will be removed. Opening the app and signing in is enough to cancel the deletion — the clock starts again from that moment, and the reminder is dropped.
We never delete an account for inactivity without having sent that warning first. If the email cannot be delivered, the deletion does not go ahead.
Backups
We keep rolling database backups — seven daily, four weekly and six monthly copies — so we can recover from a failure. Your data therefore disappears from our backups within six months at the latest, rather than at the moment of deletion. Backups are never used to bring a deleted account back.
Deleting some of your data instead
If you only want to remove part of your data, you do not need to delete the whole account. You can clear your profile and contact details in the app, and delete individual cycles and items at any time.
